Well Known Resident of Salt Creek Has Passed Away.

Elizabeth Rush was born at Amesburg, Ind. Nov 19,1846 and died at her home Monday, Aug. 15 at 12 o’clock. Elizabeth Elnor RUSH was united in marriage to Edward G. Darbro Oct.6,1870. They came to Kansas in Oct. 1870, making their home near Independence until 1895 when they moved to Chautauqua County, to what is called Brownville.
Nine children came to their home and one daughter, Nannie, 21 years old, preceded her mother to the home above in May, 1908.
Her Christian life was above reproach. The mind that was in Christ Jesus, simple in faith, earnest in purpose, consecrated in service and consistent in life is the unanimous testimony of all who knew her and those intimate are most emphatic. Quiet and modest in her profession. Mrs. Darbro had been ailing for some time but was confined to her bed but a few weeks.
She leaves four sons, Clark Darbro of Hale, Kans, Zelbert Darbro of Hartland, Kans., Jerons and Rushey Darbro of Elk City, Kans., and four daughters, Mrs. John Ramsey of Wichita, Kans, Piercie, Mary, and Lula Darbro of Elk City, Kans.
Strength and honor are her clothing and she shall rejoice in time to come. Her children arise and call her blessed. her husband also and he praiseth her; a woman that feareth the Lord shall be praised, She being dead yet speaketh.
The funeral services were conducted at Rutland Center by Mrs. N. Raney and after which interment was made in the Rutland cemetery.
