Elsie L. Adams, 74, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born July 31, 1932, in Pemscott County, Mo., to Jesse S. and Carrie Merrill Wheatley. She had lived in Nettleton since 1962. She was a former frame builder and spot welder at Aircap Industries in Verona. She was a member of the Nettleton United Methodist Church and the Lively Hearts Club. She enjoyed taking trips, going to church, cooking for her family and friends, and shopping.

Services were held at the Nettleton United Methodist Church with Dr. Wallace Cason III officiating. Burial was in Gray's Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Adams Hanna and Sheila Adams Wren, both of Nettleton; four sons, Walter Eugene Adams Jr. (Yvonne) of Peoria, Ariz., Roy Adams of Nettleton, Jesse Adams (Shelia) of Albertville, Ala., and Nick Adams (Cathy) of Tupelo; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Eugene Adams Sr.; and five sisters, three brothers and one grandson.

Pallbearers were David Reeves, Shane "Leo" Kennedy, Benny Taylor, Sam Adkins, Frank Riley and Flois Conn.
