US-Civil War veteran for the Union, 19th Indiana Infantry Regiment, Company A. He mustered into the service as a Musician on July 29, 1861. He was one of the many soldiers from the 19th Indiana Infantry that would die from disease soon after arriving in Washington D.C. at the start of the war. His death occurred only six weeks after he was in the service. He had a wife and a two-year old son.
