Alexander Goodhart Walker was born on Mar. 3, 1847, the son of Alexander and Margaret (McFarland) Walker and the grandson of Benjamin and Margaret (Cunningham) Walker. He was born on his father's homestead in Wayne Township, Armstrong co.,PA.

As a young man Alexander taught school for five years and then spent a few years in Jefferson Co. where he engaged in lumbering, after which he returned to Armstrong Co. and followed farming and stock raising.

His 1st wife was Rebecca C. Findley and they had 3 children: Findley, William Alexander and John Garfield (Bert). Rebecca died on Apr. 20, 1891.

His 2nd marriage was to a widow, Mrs Martha Deborah (Heasley) Klingensmith in 1893. They had 9 children: Harry Calvin. Infant son Walker, Arlie Goodhart, Margaret Isabelle (Barrett), Lewis Reed, David Elder, Fannie Florence (Allen), Theodore Sharp, & Robert Charles.

The family belonged to the United Presbyterian Church , in which Alexander was an elder for many years.

He was influencial in politics and on the Republican ticket was elected Auditor of Armstrong Co., and office he held for two terms. He also served as a member of the Wayne township school board and held the offices of treasurerand president and was also a Township Supervisor.

Alexander died on Jul. 26, 1932 at the age of 85.
