Margaret McCrory was a daughter of John McCrory and Lillie Akin McCrory (born 1777 County Antrim, Ireland died 10-23-1843 Fayette Co., IN). Her siblings were Robert, Samuel, William, and Jane. Margaret married Alexander Gillespie Saxon, son of Alexander and Mary Baldwin Saxon, on 9-27-1827 at the home of her parents. Their twelve children were Jane, Selina, McHenry, John, Anna, William Andrew, Savannah, Robert, Samuel, James Nuten, Mary, and Elizabeth.

The trip lasted six months and involved a ship wreck and being stopped and searched three times by a British Man of War. Margaret's thirteen year old brother Robert was wanted for service in the British Army. ... Margaret McCrory's brother Robert married husband Alexander Gillespie Saxon's sister, Salina (Celina) Saxon ... My grand mother Margaret McCrory Saxon died at in Falmout (sic) at the home of her daughter, Mary - Dawson on April 10th 1884, wher (sic) Donald Foster now lives. The picture of her sitting down in chair was taken two or three month (sic) befoe she died Was sick at the time only able to sit for the picture they wanted picture before it was to (sic) late ...".
