Alysia Sue Annas Simmons



Hickory, N.C. - Alysia Sue Annas Simmons, 37, of 25th Street Place, SW, Hickory, died Friday, April 3, 2009, after a lengthy illness, having been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2005.

Born June 3, 1971, she was the daughter of Daryl Eugene and Deborah Sue Lail Annas of Vale, N.C.

She was an avid reader and collector of Winnie the Pooh and cow items. She enjoyed word search puzzles, volunteered at Longview Thrift Store and enjoyed helping others. She attended Hickory Mennonite Church.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Walter Ritchie Jenkins; a daughter, Alia Beth Annas of Vale; a number of cousins, aunts and uncles; paternal grandparents, Tellis L. and Betty Annas of Granite Falls; maternal grandmother, Betty E. Lail of Vale; and special pets, Chloe Belle and Petie, survive her.

Her maternal grandfather, Winfield B. Lail Sr.; an aunt, Denise Burgess; and an uncle, Randy Annas, preceded her in death. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009, at Jenkins Funeral Home chapel, with brother Ken Moyer officiating.

Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hickory.
