Hugh T. Francis, 72, Springfield, Mo., died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 1995, in his home, after a short illness.
The son of Charles and Leila Turner Francis, he was born April 4, 1923, in Waynesville, N.C. Mr. Francis worked at Dayco Corp. for 28 years, retiring in 1984. He then owned and operated Fraser Fir Christmas Tree Lot in National Art Shop.
He was a member of University Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Arthur. On Nov. 12, 1942, he was united in marriage to Martha Lucille Rogers, who survives, of the
home. He is also survived by his 101 year old mother, Leila, Waynesville, N.C.; three daughters, Dean and her husband, Torris Germany, and Debbie Petersen, all of Rogersville, and Jean and her husband, Jerry Sanders, Springfield; two brothers, Walter and Wade, Waynesville, N.C.; two sisters, Elizabeth Holland, Releigh, N.C. and Barbara Gentry, Walnut Cove, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Rosalie Francis, Charlotte, N.C.; two granddaughters, Dawn and Shelly; four grandsons, Marc, Jason, Chris, and Greg; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 1995 in Greenlawn Funeral Home south with the Rev. B.J. Vernon officiating. Burial will be in Rivermonte Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Missouri.
