Gladys Klontz, 87, of Xenia, passed away on Sunday, November 16 in Yellow Springs.
She was born June 8, 1921 in Pike County, Ohio, the daughter or Orval R. and Elizabeth Belle (Locke) Sharp. She was a homemaker, a longtime member of Faith Community United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, and enjoyed crafts, gardening, and canning.
She was preceded in death by her parent; her husband, Murrel Kontz whom she married November 18, 1938; sons-in-law Richard Bailey and Clifford Massie; grandchildren Brian Klontz and Belinda King, and 15 sisters and brothers.
She is survived by daughters Clara Belle Bailey of Springfield, and Sharon Kay Massie of Xenia, a son, Lester Lee Klontz of Mesa, Arizona; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 21 at the Fairview Cemetery, Jeffersonville, Ohio.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 20th at McColaugh Funeral Home Inc., 826 N. Detroit Street, Xenia.
