OREGON CITY, OR. -- August 19 (Special)
Mrs. Cassandra W. Brock, 80, widely known as "the mother of Bend", where she resided nearly 40 years, died at the home of her son, E. J. Brock, at Oak Grove, tonight of old age. Funeral services will be held Saturday at Brady's funeral parlors at 1 o'clock, and burial will be at Newberg. Mrs. Brock married John Brock, who survives her, in Texas in 1865. They came to Oregon in the early days and made their home at Bend until four years ago, when they came here. Besides the widower, Mrs. Brock is survived by four sons, J. F., Albany; W. H., Odell Lake; C. L., North Bend, and E. J., at Oak Grove.
