Per the cemetery office for this lady Dec. 26, 2012:
Our records indicate 10/23/1913 as date of death, 10/24/1913 as date of burial. I have no information for date of birth other than she was 89 years old.
As we all know, our records can be wrong. In 1913, we would get information from a funeral director or family member. Now-a-days we only get information from funeral homes.
Her death cert. has birth dates, and it appears errors were made. The date I show for her differs showing March 22, Oct. 1 years appears as 1824 above what should be a scratched 1973. Date if death as Oct. 22 but the line makes the last 2 hard to see, appears as if it was 27th. The date of death being Oct. 23 then one can rule out the 27th as date, and use the 22nd. Parents Melvin Godman and Sarah Lylton he of KY and she of VA. S Ellis Hughes informant. Funeral home was Paxson Undertaking Co. If I did not know the name of the funeral home I would not have guessed that to be the name with the handwriting. Female, white, widowed. She was listed in age as 89 yrs. 8mos and 20 days. A caclulation of that using a toombstone calculator has this as a birth date shows date to be Feb. 2, 1824.
She is listed on page 466 of Greene County, Missouri Cemeteries Hazelwood Cemetery by the Ozarks Genealogical Society this way. It was also my original source for her.
*Eversol Sarah E died 23 Oct 1913 ae 89yr 8mo 20da
Note the asterisks by the listing means she does not have any monument. The age in yrs. mos and days was not where the people that printed the book got the info. They show any left hand notes if not from a monument can come from other sources. Newspapers, death cert. family, etc. In this case I would think it would have been a look up by one of those involved and finding the death cert.
