Son of Elias Frederick Loader (1825-1870) & his 2nd wife, Anna Maria Berrett (1839-1920) who married in Ealing, London on 13 July 1862. His father was a Cheesmonger/Greengrocer. He died in London of phthisis/TB aged 46. His mother then emigrated to NZ in 1871. She next married James Laing Sterry 1 June 1873 and died of Dementia in Porirua Asylum where she had been a resident for 12 years
