LAWRENCE
- At the residence of Mr R. C. Noedl, Ormond street, on Monday, 25th October, Sarah Lawrence, the beloved mother of R. C. Noedl; aged 91 years. Private interment. No flowers by request.

Obituary Mrs Lawrence, mother of Mr R. C. Noedl, died at her son's residence at eleven o'clock this morning. She had reached the great age of 91 years and had enjoyed excellent health, never being ill during her life time. Last May she had an attack of influenza and cold and was not able to throw it off. Her first husband was Dr C. A. Noedl, who took part in the Crimean War as a surgeon of the Turkish Contingent that left London for the Crimea in May 1855. He was killed in an engagement - at least it was thought so as he never returned, leaving his wife, son and daughter in London. After her second husband's death, Mrs Lawrence came out to the Dominion. That was about 23 years ago, since when she has lived with her son's family.
She was a dear old lady, much beloved by all who knew her and much sympathy will be felt for the sorrowing relatives.

NOTE Her son was Robert Charles Noedl (1853-1930). He married Catherine Annie Cooper (1853-1922) in 1876 & had 11 children. Catherine is buried here, Robert is buried Waipukurau.
