EAKINS, C. AUSTIN
Mr. Eakins, 93, of Mountaindale, Fallentimber RD 1, died this morning, Nov 11, 1982, in Altoona VA Medical Center. Mr. Eakins retired from the Naval Supply Depot, Mechanicsburg. He was born April 24, 1889, in Roseland, Reade Township, the son of Thaddeus C. and Jane (Fleming) Eakins, and married Jennie Lovell, who died July 21, 1978. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mardell E. Grossman of Mountaindale, Fallentimber RD 1; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sister: Mrs. Florence Irwin of Blandburg and Mrs. Lilly Gallagher of Houtzdale. Mr. Eakins was a member of the Mountaindale Baptist Church, where he was a former trustee. He was an Army veteran of World War I, having served in France. He was also a member of the Mechanicsburg American Legion Post. He was a former supervisor of Reade Township. He was also a member of the Mechanicsburg American Legion Post. He was a former supervisor of Reade Township. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Plass Funeral Home. Glasgow.
