KOUTS--Charles Earl Schnekenburger, 78, died at 4:30 a.m. today in Porter Memorial hospital after an illness of two months.
Born in Kniman, Ind., July 4, 1884, he lived in the Kouts area the past 41 years, coming from Wheatfield. He was a retired farmer.
On Dec. 10, 1905 in Kniman, he married Lena Jahn, who preceded him in death in January of 1962.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church in Kouts and Porter County Farm Bureau.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Robert McFeeley, LaPorte; two sons, Elbert and Carl, both of Kouts; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Lutheran church with Dr. Luther P. Koepke officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery.
Friends may call at Kosanke Brothers funeral home in Kouts after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
