Last Rites Held June 3 for Ruby Allen, 71
Funeral services for Mrs. Orval T. (Ruby) Allen, 72, of Gravity were held June 3 at Shum-Novinger Funeral Home in Bedford with Carl Cummings officiating. Mrs. Allen died at her home near Gravity May 29, 1976. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Bedford.
Ruby Pearl Glover Allen, daughter of Edward James and Iva Alice Glover, was born at Siam, Iowa, February 22, 1904.
She grew to maturity in the Siam community where she attended the public schools and the Christian Church.
On February 26, 1922, she was united in marriage to Orval Troy Allen at Siam, Iowa, and they lived in Taylor County where they engaged in farming.
To this union two children were born: Iva Lucile and Edward James.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval T. Allen, who passed away December 26, 1963; her father, Edward J. Glover, who died in September 1964 and her mother who died April 1976; and her son, Edward James Allen, who died May 12, 1972.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lucile Miller and her husband, Clark Miller of Red Oak, Ia.; two grandchildren, Allen Clark Miller of Des Plaines, Ill., and Lana Sue Miller of Lincoln, Nebr., two great grandchildren, Kelly Kristine Miller and Gregory Allen Miller; a brother, Marvin Gale Glover and family of Toronto, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Allen of Hopkins, Mo.; a niece, Mrs. Willard Severn of Oxnard, Calf.; a nephew, Frederick Glover, of Bedford; great aunts, Nellie E. Cobb and Lonesa Bradley, both of Bedford; other relatives and many friends.
She was a member of the Christian Church, New Market, Ia.
She was a kind and considerate mother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
