Illness Fatal to Resident of This City
Mrs. Myrtie Isabell Surfus Ware, wife of Rev. A.J. Ware, died Tuesday evening. She had been ill for several months from a nervous breakdown.
Mrs. Ware, daughter of the late Abraham and Sarah Margaret Surfus, was born in Butler County, Iowa and came to Oregon City with her parents when a child. She has made her home in this city since that time. She united with the United Brethern Church when a child and was an active member.
Surviving are the husband, a daughter, Mrs. Marie Morley, two sons, Frank and Ray Ware, Oregon City; sister, Mrs. J.A. Cameron, Oregon City, and four brothers, William Surfus, John Surfus and Charles Surfus, Oregon City: Roy Surfus, Sellwood. She also leaves a grandaughter Gwendolyn Morley, Oregon City. Among the other relatives are her niece. Mrs. Joseph Miller of Mount Angel: her nephews, Basil Saunders, Hood River: Virgil Surfus, Enterprise, Ore.: Mrs. Sadie Martin, Washington, Edmond Surfus, Oregon City, and Rennie Younger of Portland.
