Calvin Ricks, 81, of Elkhart, Texas died April 2, 2009, at Palestine Regional Medical Center in Palestine, Texas. Burial in Fields Chapel Cemetery was under the direction of Bailey and Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. He was born May 24, 1927 in Maydelle, Texas to the late, Charles L. and Mary Emma Ricks. Mr. Ricks was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. He was a former employee of Knox Glass where he worked for 25 years. He was preceded in death by a son, W.C. Ricks; brothers, Doyle Ricks, and Henry Ricks; and two sisters. Mr. Ricks is survived by his wife, Pearl Ricks; daughters, Linda Smalley and husband Bob, Janette Johnson, Debra Franklin, Penelope Barnes and husband Ron; sons, Bill Ricks and wife Anita, James Estell and wife Claudia, and Vernon Ricks; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
