She was a highly acclaimed master interpreter of many classical composers, including Chopin, Brahms, Liszt, and others, as well as a capable performer of modern music of the day. She regularly played with major symphony orchestras in cities across the country and around the globe. She was scheduled to play a concert with the Oakland Symphony Orchestra on January 19, 1946. Other musicians played in her honor and dedicated the performance to her.

Double funerals were performed for the Baldwins on December 30, 1946, at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno, CA.
