Charles Wallace Badker was born July 8, 1923 at Clear Lake, Deuel, South Dakota to Frank Joseph Badker and Etta Martha Carothers, the youngest of their eleven children.

Found in the 1930 census living at Ortonville, Big Stone, Minnesota. Census says he was born in Minnesota. Frank Bodker 50, Etta Bodker 46, Helen Bodker 25, George Bodker 24, Enmdson Bodker 22, Margaret Bodker 20, Frank Bodker 17, John Bodker 12, William Bodker 11, Jacques Bodker 10, Carles Bodker 8, Wallis Bodker 5/12 (Walter Hagan, grandson).

He enlisted in the US Navy January 22, 1941 and served in World War II. He was in Hawaii just shortly before the date of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, serving on board the Destroyer Aylwin, (which was tied up next to the destroyer Dale) during the attack.


Charles married Barbara Lou Brown at San Jose, Los Angeles, California. They had 3 sons while living at San Jose. (Remembrance from his son: "My Dad, who liked to be called Chuck, was working as a well driller for the Western Pump Company when an accident on the job caused his death. He drilled many of the water wells on the big vineyards all over California."

Charles Wallace Badker died July 15, 1963 at San Jose, San Mateo, California and was buried at the Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo, California.
