Services were held April 24, 1979, at the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha. Rev. Loren Becker officated. The Interment was made in the family plot at Bern Cemetery.

ELLEN LANGE
Eleanor Ellen Kennedy Lange was born april 24, 1896, and lived in the Bern and Sabetha communties most of her life.
She was married to Albert Lange and they lived on a farm in the Bern community. To this union were born six children. The family moved to sabetha in the 1940's where the children attended Sabetha schools. Alberts and a son Iris were asphyxiated in their home, where the Co-op Elevator now stands. On January 31, 1939. Ellen raised the children in Sabetha and worked for others doing housework. Edna Fulton gave her work in her home for many years and looked after Ellen and her business affairs.
Ellen had attended the United Brethern Church in Sabetha. Her health had been getting weaker for the past sevral years following surgery for cancer in 1971. Death came at the Sabetha Community Hospital on April 22, 1979. Preceeding her in death were a son, Edward, in 1945; her husband Albert and son Iris in 1949, and a daughter, Anna Jean in 1953.
Survivors are four daughters, Mary Brown of Buffalo, Missouri, Ruth Lange of Garden City, Ruby Barker of Oswego and Dorothy Edmonds of Hiawatha; one siste Rella Barker of Kansas City, 10 grandchildren, as well as several great grandchildren.
