On 1 June 1843 he married Mary Cooly John Byers Rinehart died in 1911 and is buried with his wife Mary Cooly Rinehart. He was a Veteran having served with Co. B 134th IL Infantry.
Also buried in Riverside Cemetery (on the back of the Rinehart Headstone) is David Clark; the husband of Miriam Baker Rinehart Clark d/o John Byers Rinehart and Mary Cooly Rinehart; she was born December 1853.
