The Sioux Valley News, 4 February 1909, page 5: Died at her home four miles southwest of Pierson January 26, 1909, Mrs. Mermie Heaton Lambert at the age of 28 years, 4 months. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Heaton. Ten years ago she was married to C.V. Lambert. She leaves a husband and four small children, two girls and two boys. She was taken sick with pneumonia two weeks before her death and passed away Tuesday evening. Her mother came from McKenzie, North Dakota, Friday. Her brother, Windsor, came from Minneapolis, Minnesota, her sister Geneva came from Chicago, Illinois, and Frank Lambert came from McKenzie, North Dakota. There are other relatives also. Funeral services were held at the Rock Branch church on Sunday morning conducted by Rev. J.F. Ainsworth, pastor of the Christian Church, of which deceased was a member. Interment was made in the Rock Branch Cemetery.
