Bert Poer, R. R. 2, Danville, died, Sunday morning, in the Hendricks County Hospital following an illness of five months. He was 87 years of age.
A native of Hamilton County, he was born Sep. 6, 1878, the son of the late James and Martha Secrest Poer. On Nov. 20, 1909, he was married to Georgie Scott in North Salem. They had spent their lifetime engaged in farming west of Danville.
Services were Wednesday afternoon from the Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Edgar Byram officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, North Salem.
Surviving with the widow are two sons, James R. Poer, Danville; Donald Poer, Florida; a sister, Mrs. Dave Poer, Gwyneville, and five grandchildren.
