George L. WASHINGTON, 69, Peru, died at Fort Wayne Parkview Hospital at 10:10 p.m. Friday. Mr. Washington was born Jan. 24, 1911 in Miami County to George and Daisy McCARTER WASHINGTON. He was married to Dorothy J. WELLER on June 3, 1934, who survives. He was retired from Square-D Co., Peru. He was a member of the Peru First Christian Church and Masonic Lodge of Macy.
Surviving with the wife are two sons, Don [WASHINGTON], Chicago, Ill., and Guy [WASHINGTON], Fort Wayne; a brother, Harold [WASHINGTON], Elkhart; a sister, Grace CONNER, Mexico; a granddaughter, Heather WASHINGTON, Fort Wayne.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, Peru, with the Revs. William SHEWMAN and Avery MILEY officiating. Burial will be in the Plainview Cemetery, Macy. Friends may call 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Miami County Chapter.
