MATHILDA KAUTZER

Mrs. Mathilda Kautzer, 76, a Kiel resident, died Wednesday at Calumet Homestead in New Holstein.
The former Matilda Berchem was born March 14, 1901 at Charlesburg, a daughter of Jacob and Mary Ann Achter Berchem.
On Jan. 31, 1921, she married Peter Kautzer at St. Charles Catholic church in Charlesburg. The couple lived in St. Nazianz for several years before moving to a farm in the Town of Schleswig (Manitowoc County). Mr. Kautzer died Feb. 11, 1962.
Mrs. Kautzer, who moved to Kiel in 1966, was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel, the Christian Mothers' Society of the parish and the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.
Survivors are one brother, Henry of Milwaukee and nieces and nephews.
The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church in Kiel, with the Rev. Francis Kerscher, pastor, as celebrant. The
Mass will be preceded by family rites at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
