Dancer, Actress. Best known for her work in theatre, she appeared in numerous on and off-Broadway musicals during the 1960s and 1970s. She was married to actor Jerry Orbach from 1979 until his death in 2004. She was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and studied dance as a child at the Community School of Pittsfield. While a teen, she attended New York's School of the American Ballet and made her Broadway debut in 1959 at the age of nineteen in George Abbott's "Fiorello!". Further memorable performances followed in such prominent productions as "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" (1961 to 1965), "Flora, The Red Menace" (1965), Bob Fosse's "Sweet Charity" (1966 to 1967) and "Cry for Us All" (1970). It was during the run of the production "Chicago" in 1977, when she met Orbach. After retiring from the entertainment industry, she became active in charitable causes. She died from complications of pneumonia.
