1929-2009


Perneiche Edwards, 79, a good and faithful servant who fought the good fight against cancer for seven years, went to be with our Lord on Monday, March 30, 2009.
Born in Wellington, Kansas on July 11, 1929, she grew up in Belle Vista, Arkansas where she met and married her childhood sweetheart, Bill. Perneiche was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Lola Criger Hobbs; brother Hubert; sisters Fleda Maxine Hobbs and Gladys Hobbs van Barneveld; sons Jerry Edwards and Stephen Edwards.
Perneiche took great pride in serving others in her life as wife, mother, homemaker, student, business owner, church member, community and hospital volunteer, President of several organizations, surgical hostess, Public Access television volunteer, Program Manager, Director and Anchor for news and weekly TV show, Symphony Guild Board member, fund raiser for Magnolias and White Linen, Charitable fund raiser as YPPAH the clown. Also among her many accomplishments were the Sunday Morning worship Services at Azalea Trace and the Giggle Club. Her career in volunteer work began in Quincy, Illinois, moved with her to Bella Vista, Arkansas and continued in Pensacola.
Perneiche is survived by her husband of 62 years, Eugene O. "Bill" Edwards; two sons, Bill Edwards and Richard Edwards; ten grandchildren, Kelly Steinman, Brooke Edwards, Elizabeth Edwards, Natalie Edwards, Jenna Edwards, Madison Edwards, Morgan Edwards, Nicole Alice Hoenig, Shannon Humes and Timothy Edwards; 18 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Azalea Trace Auditorium located at 10100 Hillview Road Pensacola, Florida. Interment will be on July 11, 2009 in the Bella Vista Cemetery, Bella Vista, Arkansas.
The family request that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Joyce Goldenberg Hospice Residence or Azalea Trace Sunday Morning Worship Service.
Rose Lawn Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
