They left London on the 19th November 1939 and landed at Thorndon Beach 164 days later.
Walter married Sarah Jane Wyeth when he was 29 and she was 20.
They had 3 children in the Hutt Valley, Wellington and then settled in Masterton, Wairarapa - sometime between 1875 and 1879, and had another 8 (known) children.
He died 15 years before her - they are both buried in Masterton Cemetery
