GREENAWAY - At the Napier Hospital, on Tuesday, 4th July, James Greenaway, late of Woodville; aged 93 years.
It is nearly sixty years ago since Mr Greenaway came to New Zealand with the old Sixty-fifth and fought through most of the Maori wars, but left the service when the regiment returned to England. It must be well over thirty years since he came to Woodville and he has been residing in the district constantly since. Some little time ago he was removed to the Napier hospital as his health was so completely failing and he had no one to look after him.
The funeral took place at the Woodville cemetery yesterday afternoon, the Rev Canon Eccles officiating at the graveside.
