Shearle G. Flora, age 71, a resident of 305 4th Street, Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Thursday, January 27, 1994, at his residence. He was a native of Harrison County, Kentucky, a son of the late Clarence and Nellie Mae Howard Flora and a retired truck driver for Standard Oil Company, having worked 23 years. He retired from Ladish Company, after 22 years of service in the Maintenance Value Assembly Department, and was a member of the Cynthiana Auxiliary Police Department for 33 years, serving as assistant chief. He was an honorably discharged Army veteran of World War II, where he received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, European, African and Middle Eastern Theater Ribbons and two bronze stars.

Survivors include: his wife, Ruby Burden Flora; a son, Shearle A. Flora; a brother, Eugene Flora, of Paris; four sisters Mrs. Bradley (Gladys) Earlywine, of Cynthiana, Mrs. Ronald (Mary Alice) Turner, of Carlisle Ohio, Mrs. Scotty (Nancy) Fryman, of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, and Mrs. John (Norma Sue) Ritchie, of Millersburg; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 29, at Drake Funeral Home by Dr. Robert L. Anderson. Burial was in Battle Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass. Pallbearers were: John Schreiber, Irvin Dampier, Ishmael Hopkins, Ron Judy, Joe Groves, Bill Ritchie and Ray Lyons. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Joe A. Nichols, Henry Pope, Orville Fowler, Frank Perraut and Charles Sroufe.
