Republished from the Nashville Banner: Mr Adrian Van Sinderan Lindsley, Sr., died at his residence, two miles from the city, near the Gallatin turnpike, shortly after 1 o'clock this morning. His death was quite sudden, and resulted from a severe cold which he contracted last week. the intelligence of his demise spread rapidly throughout the city, and caused the deepest regret, as the deceased was one of the most popular residents of Davidson County. He was a graduate of the University of Nashville, and was secretary and treasurer of the board of Trustees of that institution for more than forty years. He served as postmaster of Nashville and Senator from Davidson county in the General Assembly, was for a number of years prominently connected with the Edgefield and Nashville street railroad, conducted a real estate and insurance business under the name of A.V.S. Lindsley & Son for a long time, and was at the time of his death a member of the firm of A.V.S. Lindsley & Williams. Mr. Lindsley leaves a wife, three sons and two daughters to mourn his loss.
