CHARLES "PAT" W. GRAVES
Charles "Pat" Graves, age 74, passed away Saturday, Sept. 18 at home in Washougal.

He was born March 17, 1930 in Midwest, WY where he lived until moving to Portland. OR when he was in the seventh grade. Charles graduated from Benson Poly Tech School and enlisted in the Navy in 1947. Mr. Graves was stationed in Japan during the Korean War where he worked in communications. He married Judy Seibert on August 10, 1963 in Hagerstown, Maryland and retired from the military in 1964. They moved to Eugene, OR and Charles attended the Univ. of Oregon. They later moved to Port Orchard, WA from 1968 to 1970 while Charles worked an the Navy Shipyards in Bremerton. They then moved to Washougal and Charles worked for the Bonneville Power Administration in material management. He would retire in 1990.

Charles was an amateur radio operator and belong to the Clark County Amateur Radio Club. He was an active community volunteer including the Meals On Wheels program. He was Past Post Commander of VFW Post 4278 and Past District Commander of VFW District 6. Charles and Judy where most recently named the 2004 Camas Days King and Queen.

He is survived by his wife, Judy, at home; son, Bryan and his wife, Tristann of Vancouver; and sister, Helen Vanderslice of Blue Bell, PA.

A memorial service will be Thursday, September 23 at 11am at the Bethel Community Church in Washougal. Inurnment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
