Agnes G. Ware, 89, was called into eternity on March 31, 2009. She was born on September 18, 1919 in Bartlett, Texas to William (Bill) and Minnie Wiederspahn.

On February 8, 1936, she married E.B. Ware. Although he preceded her in death, they celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary on February 8, 2007. A life-long resident of Bartlett, Mrs. Ware was a descendant of families who settled in the community in the late 1800s. She graduated from Bartlett High School in May of 1935 and was a former Miss Bartlett. She and her husband farmed land west of Bartlett. Mrs. Ware was a member of the Bartlett Church of Christ where she taught children's Sunday school for many years. She served as a homeroom mom for each child from first grade through high school. Mrs. Ware served on the planning board for the Tienert Memorial Library and later served two terms as president. She and her husband worked together as members of the Bartlett Historical Society on the "Save Our School Campaign" which resulted in the successful rescue and revitalization of the historic Bartlett Elementary School. Mrs. Ware was a 50+ year member and past officer of the Women's Wednesday Club. She also served her community on county and national Democratic elections.

Through the years her hobbies have included cooking, gardening, hunting, fishing, traveling the back roads of Texas, collecting and refinishing antique furniture and compiling data for family genealogy books. Faith, family, education and pride in her community and country were priorities that governed her life.

Her husband, her parents, a brother Roscoe Wiederspahn, her son-in-law Lynn Mitchell, and her great-granddaughter Emily White preceded Mrs. Ware in death.

She is survived by four children and their spouses, William and Meg Ware of Fair Oaks Ranch, Jean and Harry White of Seabrook, Linda and Butch Smith of Holland, Sara Mitchell-Harrison and Bruce Harrison of Austin.
