Joseph M. Hauch, 83, of 711 3rd St., Kiel, died Thursday evening at
Calumet Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since
Saturday. He was born June 2, 1889, in the Town of Meeme, son of
the late Michael and Anna Stein Hauch. He attended St. Fidelis
Catholic School at Spring Valley. Mr. Hauch engaged in farming with
his brother, William, in Meeme until 1949 when he moved to Kiel where
he continued to make his home with his brother and his wife. He was
employed at the A.A. Laun Furniture Co., Kiel, until retirement. He
was a World War I veteran. Mr. Hauch was a member of Ss. Peter and
Paul Catholic Church at Kiel, its Holy Name Society and a member of
the Kiel Senior Citizens. The brother, William, survives. He was
preceded in death by five brothers. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30
a.m. Tuesday at Ss. Peter and Paul Church with the Rev. Francis
Kerscher, pastor, celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Brief services will be held at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home at Kiel at
9 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Monday
until the time of services. A parish and Holy Name Rosary will be
recited at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
