W. Dow Landis, 88, 1128 Main street, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday at Woodlawn hospital. He was born Oct. 24, 1891 in Akron to Israel and Laura Hite Landis. He had lived in Rochester since 1972, moving from Akron. His first marriage was to Sarah Thompson, who died in 1937. His second marriage was Feb. 11, 1942 to Theresa Bucher, who died Dec. 12, 1977. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Bucher, Silver Lake, and Mrs. Elsie Sampson, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Sheetz funeral home, Akron, with the Rev. Fred Landhold officiating. Burial will be in the Akron cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today.
