Shirley is survived by her son, Thomas Huspek; and her daughter, Jan Eckelman.

A memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2009, in St. Henry Catholic Church, Gresham.

Gresham resident Shirley A. Anderson, 78, died Saturday, March 28, at her home.

A funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 3, at St. Henry Catholic Church, 346 N.W. First St. Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.

Shirley was born Sept. 24, 1930, in St. Paul, Minn., to Stephen and Elizabeth Petrasek.

On Aug. 20, 1957, she married GRANT E. ANDERSON in Minneapolis. They moved to Portland in 1957 and to Gresham in 1978.

Shirley worked as a meat wrapper and retired in 1996. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church since 1978 and a member of the Gateway Elks Widows Club, Ascension Catholic Church in Portland and Gold's Gym.

Shirley volunteered with Loaves & Fishes Meals-on-Wheels, the Gresham Senior Center and the Gateway Elks. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 18, 1985; by her sister, Gerry Watzl; and brothers, Clarence Petrasek and Raymond Petrasek.

Survivors include her son, Thomas Huspek of Terrebonne; daughter, Jan Eckelman of Portland; sister, Elizabeth Wagner of St. Paul; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes is handling arrangements.
