Mrs. Ray "Florentine" Herold, age 84, a resident of rural Buckman, MN, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2002, at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Mon., July 29, St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman, MN, with Father Gerald Dalseth officiating and Father Kenneth Brenny con-celebrating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Parish Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. on Sun., July 28, at the Brenny Funeral Home in Pierz, MN. Christian Mothers will pray the rosary at 4:30 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be from 9 a.m. until the service hour on Monday at the funeral home.
Florentine Helen Herold was born on June 6, 1918, in Pierz, MN, to the late Joseph and Mary (Millner) Hoheisel. She grew up on the family farm in the Pierz area. Florentine was united in marriage to Ray Herold Sr. in Cloquet, MN. The couple settled in Buckman Township where they farmed until 1975. Florentine was a member Christian Mothers. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. She also loved gardening, quilting, cooking, and playing cards. Florentine touched many people with her friendly ways.
She is survived by her eight sons and three daughters; Gerald (Linda) of Minneapolis, Raymond (Suzanne) of Pierz, Robert (Donna) of Buckman, Mary Marshik (Henry) of Ham Lake, Roseann Becker (Russell) of Plymouth, Steven of Ham Lake, Lucille Nelson (George) of Crystal, Richard and fiancee, Shirley Lanners of Buckman, Ronald (JoAnn) of Pierz, Kurt and special friend, Mary Dreiling of Pierz, William (Violet) of Pierz; sisters, Hildegard Bujalski of Pierz, Ann Marn of St. Paul, and Barbara Zenner of Belgrade; 36 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond (August 1993); daughter, Barbara; son, Michael and a granddaughter, Denise.
Casket Bearers will be her 8 sons; Gerald, Raymond, Robert, Steven, Richard, Ronald, Kurt, and William Herold.
Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Home in Pierz, MN.
