The death of Mrs. Jacob Brausen of Hillman township occurred at her home Friday morning, Sept.. 25th, 1925, the cause of which was epilepsy of which the deceased had been suffering for many years. The case was not considered as serious as she was always able to do her housework and it was not until last week Thursday when the disease took a turn for worse and death followed next day.
Mrs. Jacob Brausen, whose maiden name was Frances Wieling, was born in Danbury, Iowa, October 14, 1892, and her age at death was 32 years, 11 months and 11 days. In 1902 the Wieling family came to Buckman and settled on a farm about 4 miles southwest of that village where the Wieling family now resides. Before coming to this county the Wieling family live in Iowa and South Dakota for a number of years.
In 1908 Frances Wieling was married to Jacob Brausen and their union was blessed with seven children, six of whom are living they are Alma, Math, Peter, Theodore, Henry and Reinhardt. Surviving beside the children are her husband and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wieling of Buckman and a brother and three sisters, Wm. T. Wieling, Mrs. Peter Prelenberg, and Rose and Hilda Wieling allof Buckman.
Burial for the deceased Mrs. Brausen was held from St. Michael's church at Buckman Monday morning at nine o'clock and the remains were laid to rest in the Buckman cemetery. Among out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral were Herman Wieling and Mrs. Fred Hinp of New Munich.
