Christina Stueven --- Calumet County Reporter --- October 13, 1916

Mrs. Claus Stueven passed away at her home in the village Monday evening of asthma.
Christina Dorothea Stueven (nee Trimpop) was born in Marina, Holstein, Germany on Feb. 20, 1846. On January 1, 1865 she was united in marriage to Claus Stueven. July 7, 1876 she, in the company of her husband and children, came to New Holstein and settled on a farm in the town of Eaton where they lived for several years, later buying a farm in the town of New Holstein one mile northwest of the village. On July 1, 1906 they moved to New Holstein and retired from active work.
Nine children were born to them, three of whom are dead. The remaining are Henry and Herman of the town of New Holstein, Helen Matter of Milwaukee, Julia Feldt and Mary Rosenbauer of Schleswig and Kati Dumke of town of Charlestown.
Mrs. Stueven was a dutiful wife and a loving mother, who has worked early and late to give her children a good home. On January 1, 1915, Mr. and Mrs. Stueven celebrated their golden wedding at the hall of Edw. Hennings. A large number of friends were present.
Funeral services were held at the Eaton cemetery. Rev. A. C.Plappert officiated.
