Uncle Willie was one of a kind. There are so many stories about him, but this one I remember particularly well.
On one occasion, he had been ginseng digging in his dune buggy, and both he and Aunt Elsie frequently went looking for ginseng especially in the Richland Creek area. But he was alone for this story.
He came back to Fountain's Gro. at Tilly in his usual jovial way to show everyone the rattle snake he had killed. But, when he went to get it out, the snake wasn’t happy, and he realized he had just addled it in the woods. Everyone got excited by the "alive rattlesnake" that was a passenger with Willie in his Dune Buggy coming home. The snake was killed with no harm to anyone, and Uncle Willie was joyfully teased about his live rattle snake for years to come.

Alfred on left and Willie on right;
Both Alfred and Willie both joked and teased a lot, but Uncle Willie was the best jokester of all. This was taken at the Union Hill Decoration, but I don't know what year.
