From The Goldendale Sentinel, Sept. 30, 1948:

"Mrs. Hamilton Passes After Long Illness

Funeral services for Mrs. Orville Hamilton, who failed to rally from an operation in a Portland hospital September 23, were held from the Phillips Funeral Home in Goldendale Saturday afternoon at 2:30 with C.B. Shropshire officiating. Mrs. Hamilton had been in poor health for the past four years.

The Funeral Home was filled to capacity as her many friends gathered to pay their last respects to the popular resident, who made her home here since 1903 and who had taken an active interest in church and community activities.

Survivors include her husband, Orville Hamilton; three sons, Walter and Gerald of Goldendale, and Loren, of Auburn; two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Niva and Marjorie and seven grand children. An obituary appears elsewhere.

MRS. ORVILLE HAMILTON

Alma S. Sanstrum was born June 14, 1889 at Monarch, Colorado, and passed away at the Portland Sanitarium, Thursday, September 23, following an illness of four years.

In 1903 she came to Klickitat county with her parents and on February 26, 1911, she was united in marriage to Orville Hamilton, who survives. To this union three boys, Walter, Loren and Gerald; three daughters, Wynona, Mabel and Marjorie, were born, all survive with the exception of Wynona, who passed away in 1915.

Mrs. Hamilton obeyed the gospel in the year 1908, being baptized by S.O. Pool.

Funeral services were held at the Phillips Funeral Home Saturday, Sept. 25 with interment following in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery."
