Ogden – Ada Anna Arnold, 83, passed away March 27, 2009 at her home from respiratory failure.

She was born January 7, 1926 in Springfield, Illinois to Jesse James Arnold and Iva May Jester. She married George Louis Austin, on May 3, 1942 in Yuma, Arizona. He died July 14, 2001.

She was raised in Illinois and moved to California in 1938 and spent most of her married life there, she later moved to Ogden in March of 1995. She was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on July 8, 1995 and was a member of the Wilson 2nd Ward.

She loved gardening, food, flowers, beautification, knitting, oil painting of landscapes, water scenes, etc, sewing and was an excellent cook.

Ada had an unconditional love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She raised her great granddaughter, Trina Baker, as her own daughter, as a newborn till now. Their bond was beyond a mother and daughter relationship; it was extraordinary and beautiful.

Surviving are her children, George Bryce Austin, Vancouver, WA; Frank James Austin, Elgin, OK; Sandra Joan Austin Urmanski, Ogden, UT; Pamela Jean Austin Schmauss, Ogden, UT; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; two sisters, Rosemary Arnold Spivey, Houston, TX; Jessie Mae Arnold Evans, Chatsworth, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three half-brothers, Jack, Billy, and David Foley; one brother, Robert Arnold; a grandson, Johnny Schmauss; and a brother-in-law Johnny Spivey.

The family would like to thank Access Hospice for their support , care and especially for the RN Nancy and for the CNA Audeen, for their care and compassion of Ada.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2009, 1:00 p.m. at the Myers Mortuary in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. where family and friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 12 to 12:45 p.m.
