Husband Matthew L. Sweeney, Chicago, Illinois.
Died in Cook County Hospital of peritonitis awhile after delivering twin girls. Cemetery said her mother Sara bought the single grave and a stone. Was not able to find grave, I'm not familiar with cemetery.
Her children were born Sara Amelia Sweeney to Matthew Sweeney and Janet (Jardin) Sweeney at Cook County Hospital with twin Jon Mary (later changed to Joan) Sweeney. Mother said they were baptised Catholic at church near Canal Street but she nor I could ever find church records. I have her death certificate from Cook County Hospital with husband's name, address & cause as peritonitis.
The girls were adopted out at 15 months old from Lake Bluff/Chicago Orphange (later Lake Bluff/Chicago Children's Home in Park Ridge, IL) August 1900 by Libby (Elisabeth) Fisher, a single parent (later married Charles S. Murphy) "fell for the girls" and took them back to Delphi, IN. Records say placed in a home April, 1900 "mother had to work" and mother died 6 weeks later of peritonitis. Indications were it took until 1901 for paperwork.
