Dustin graduated from Edmond High School in 1989. He attended three and one-half years at Oklahoma State University and one year at
Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he graduated with a degree in chemistry in 1995. He pursued a career in law enforcement after college and was employed by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation as a forensic chemist where he was respected, admired and well liked by his fellow agents.

Dustin held a black belt in karate and was active in the martial arts. He enjoyed golfing, snow skiing, photography, sky diving, and
exploring the mountain trails in a jeep. He played rugby for Oklahoma State University and was therefore an avid Cowboys fan who was always proud to display the orange and black. He was known by all for his dry wit and keen sense of humor as well as his polite and unselfish demeanor.
