Ralph L. Nace, 83, of 806 S. Fifteenth St., Columbia, died early Sunday morning at the Golden Living Center, Lancaster, where he had resided for the past eight weeks. He was married 60 years to his beloved wife, Ruth Yohe Nace, who survives.

Born in Washington Boro, he was the son of the late John H. and Anna Levan Nace. Ralph retired in 1987 after 20 years of service from Millersville University where he worked as a painter. In addition, he served in the U.S.M.C during WWII in the European Theater of Operations. He was a member of the First Church of God, Columbia; Red Rose Memorial Post 2435 VFW, Columbia and the Susquehanna Fire Company, Columbia. An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be missed deeply by his family and will always be remembered as a family-oriented man.

In addition to his wife are his children, Ralph E. "Gene" Nace and his wife Jessica, Columbia; Harold L. "Howie" Nace and his wife Helene, Marietta and Darlene Mae wife of Steven Splain, Columbia. 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren also survive. He was the last of his immediate family.

Funeral services will be held from the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc., 519 Walnut St., Columbia, PA on Thursday at 12 Noon with the Rev. Fred Thomas officiating. Interment in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. At the request of the family, kindly omit flowers.
