Ellen Thompson Ming, a pioneer of Globe-Miami, died Sept. 26 in Palo Alto, California. She was buried beside the remains of her husband, Colonel Marcus A. Ming, in the Presidio of San Francisco on Wednesday, September 28.

Ellen's father was a colorful pioneer lawmen in east central Arizona with the nickname "Rimrock." He was among the lawmen transporting the Apache Kid and others when the prisoners overwhelmed the officers. "Rimrock" died of a heart attack during the escape.
