52) Gideon Hurlbut, (Thomas 3rd, Thomas Jr., Thomas), was born in Woodbury, Ct., baptized in do. 1688.

He removed to town of Westport or perhaps to that part of the present town of Westport known as Green's Farms, about 2 miles east of the village. Green's Farms, as I am informed by Reverend J. E. Coley, was formerly a part of Fairfield, and was called Bankside in the early days of Connecticut. Mr. Hurlbut married Margaret _____; she died 28 February 1754, in her 54th year; he died 09 March 1757, in his 70th year, and both were buried in the Green's Farms graveyard. His descendents generally write their name Hurlbutt.
190) Gideon Jr.
191) Nathaniel, baptized March 1736
192) John
193) Thomas, baptized Green's Farms, 05 September 1742.

(It is proper to add here that the children of Gideon given above, in part, is likely, or perhaps all of them, were born in what is now Westport, Ct., and that the order of ages as their names are placed above may not be altogether correct. Furthermore, the names of 2 daughters, it is suggested, may possibly have been those of the Gideon above name;
I refer to: Rebecca Hurlbut who married 21 January 1746, Shubael Gorham
Elizabeth Hurlbut of Fairfield, who married 08 March 1746, Joseph Ketchum of Norwalk, Ct.
Records of Green's Farms Cong. Church.)
