Elizabeth Jarrett wife of Joseph Jarrett died Mar. 11 1841 in the 68th year of her age.

WILL: Joseph Jarrett to my wife Deborah during her widowhood, interest of $2000 annually to be charged on messuage and tract of land which I reside in twp of Upper Merion and by mortgage executed to me by Christian Frederick Collins and Susan his wife and $40 to be paid immediately after my decease and use of my house during her widowhood. rest and residue to be divided into 4 shares - one to my daughter Sarah Ann Famous after deducting notes from the balance to be secured on his farm in Maryland delivered to his executor but if refusal then to be held in trust in her behalf. to my daughter Susan her full share deducting out notes. to my daughter Elizabeth Supplee her full share deducting notes. to my daughter Emily Preston her full share after deducting her and her husbands Lewis Preston's debts. If my children involve my estate in any lawsuit then they are to receive nothing. I appoint my friend Samuel Berry to be executor.Oct 19 1863. proved Oct 16 1865 by Peter Gamble and Wm Hughes witnesses. "The other spoons silver 1/2 dozen marked DJ meaning Deborah Jarrett. These spoons were given to her on her wedding day when she married Joseph Jarrett. She being his 4th and last wife. Aunt Emily Preston was just 30 years old when he (Joseph Jarrett) married (Deborah Trexler)--Hannah Levasige would know," according to little red notebook of Aunt Deborah Jarrett (transcribed by Elaine Coxhead Parker).

The founder of Jarrettsville was Luther Jarrett, who named it Jarrettsville in 1838. In 1835 he bought 300 acres - -and in 1842 built a house there. Jarrett also served several terms in the State legislature.
