Rev. J.Q. Lathem, retired minister
PEARL -- The Rev. J.Q. Lathem, 92, a retired minister, died of hea[r]t failure Monday at Soutwest Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Carthage with burial in Fuston Cemetery near Walnut Grove. Visitation is 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The Rev. Lathem was a Cumberland Presbyterian minister and a native of Leake County. He was a member of Grace Presbytery.
Survivors include: sons, Kenneth Lathem of Sugarland, Texas and the Rev. Ray Lathem of Cullman, Ala., and Charles D Lathem of Carthage; daughters, Imogene Brown of Pearl, Evelyn Woods of Forest and Faye Murphy of Sweeny, Texas; sisters, Elma Alexander of Memphis and Louise Thaggard of Madden; brothers, Wilson Lathem of Allen, Texas, and Jim Buck Lathem of Sebastopol; and 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
