Myron's obituary can be found in the January 2, 1941 issue of the Almena Plaindealer, Almena, Norton County, Kansas, as follows:

"Obituary
Myron A. Lashbrook

Myron A. Lashbrook was born at Horton, Iowa, April 4, 1867, and died December 26, 1940, at his home in Almena, Kansas, at the age of 73 years, 8 months and 22 days. He was a son of Aaron D. Lashbrook and Amanda Houghton Lashbrook, who were married in Madison, Wisconsin, November 8, 1852. Both parents were born in England.

Myron Lashbrook moved with his family to the vicinity of Alma, Nebr., when he was ten years old and has lived continuously in Harlan county, Nebr., and Norton county, Kansas the past 63 years.

He was married May 9, 1901 to Catherine A. Rosenbrook of Stamford, Nebr. Three sons were born to them. They were Arthur and Clifford, both of whom died at birth, and Ralph Richard Lashbrook, who lives in Manhattan, Kansas.

He leaves the widow of the home; the son, Ralph; a grandson, Ralph Richard Lashbrook, Jr.; and two brothers, Chester C. Lashbrook and Oscar I. Lashbrook, both of Arkansas City, Kans. The two living brothers are the only survivors of a family of sixteen, which included Myron A. Lashbrook's twin sister, Myra, who died at the age of nine years.

Myron A. Lashbrook became self-supporting at the age of ten. As a young man he and a brother, Alvin, had a government contract for carrying the mail between Alma and Holdrege, Nebr., before the railroads were built into that territory. Later he and his brother were associated in business at Alma.

Shortly after Mr. and Mrs. Lashbrook were married in 1901, they moved to a farm north of Long Island, Kansas. In 1906 they and their infant son, Ralph, moved to a farm seven miles northeast of Almena. This was the family home for 33 years until Mr. and Mrs. Lashbrook moved to Almena, November 1, 1939. Mr. Lashbrook had been confined to his chair and to his bed since January, 1939, when he was stricken with paralysis.

He was baptized in August 1940, by Rev. Sidney Dillinger and thereafter Mr. Lashbrook frequently expressed his readiness to go whenever the call of his creator came, as it did December 26. His almost constant companion for the nearly two years of his final illness was Mrs. Lashbrook, his loyal and devoted wife."
